Typical portrait photography is highly formulaic. Subjects are posed and lighted in very beautiful ways, but there is nothing intrinsically unique about the pose, or the lighting, or the context. Typical portraits are used momentarily for social media or perhaps framed and placed on the mantel next to photos of other family members.
In contrast, a Fine Art Portrait is highly unique and creatively intentional. For me it begins as a vision. That vision becomes an obsession until I have completed the work to my satisfaction. Fine art portraits have such depth of meaning and expression that they deserve to be a feature framed on your living room wall, an heirloom to be handed down to generations. The emotional value of such a piece places the work in an entirely different realm from a standard portrait.
Everyone deserves to have such an amazingly beautiful and artistic portrait of themselves as a way to mark one's passage through this life, and for it to be a treasure for your family and friends, for generations to come. It is part of a legacy, your legacy, and you are worth that investment!
